Once the drive has been partitioned, you'll need to format it. Reboot and enter Windows. Once there, go into Windows Explorer and select the new drive letters and chose to format them.
Whatever you do, DO NOT accidentally format or partition your existing hard drive (usually C:). Now, after a reboot, you should see the new drives ready for you to fill them up with a pile of new data.
If all this talk of cracking open your case and messing around with BIOS settings and partition information scares you, perhaps there is one other option.
There are a number of external hard drive products now available which are as easy to use as plugging them in to a free USB port. While you will pay more for these products and while you may not get as much storage as you would with a new internal drive, the process is far simpler.
