I tried a live cd of puppy linux the other day and it was awesome. You pop the cd in reboot and it runs faster than any live cd I have ever used. It automatically connected to my wireless net. It has features for mounting hard drives and recovering data as well as making backup clones of hd's. I downloaded the version on the top right of the link. It ran so fast on my T-43 thinkpad that my friend thought I had it installed.

Old post, I know, but I had to do a follow up on it, the new puppy linux 4.1 and 4.1.2 are fantastic. Allthough they run in root mode (which is basicly my only regret) they are very very fast on my older hardware. And you can put it on a USB stick :-)

Will the fun ever end? :-)
