I'm not sure this is the correct place to post this question, but anyway, here it is. We have a 2TB Western Digital Mybook external hard drive. The drive needs to be able to be accessed and written to by a Windows computer and a Mac. Windows and Macs can both read and write to FAT32, but there is a 4GB file size limit. We are dealing with large video files that are larger than 4GB. Is there another way to make the drive readable and writable for both the Windows and Mac computers?

My suggestion for your consideration is to either format it as NTFS for windows or Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and then enable file sharing on the drive - due to the limitation of the FAT 32 file system.

If you do NTFS and connect it to the Mac you can do Read Only mode to download files from the drive - however you would not be able to write files.

Hope that is somewhat helpful.
